Myrehøj

Myrehøj: an exact translation would be mire ridge. when the farmhouse was built in 1686 there was a large quagmire just to the north east which over the next 100 years was drained to provide building ground. Originally one of four farms in Eskebjerg, Myrehøj is the last surviving farmhouse construction.

The stable buildings were added at the same time as the barn in 1830. as late as the 1960`s, livestock at Myrehøj consisted of 6 Belgian horses, 12 dairy cows, 6 breeding cattle & 80 pigs. In 1970 the farmland had been sold off and Myrehøj became redundant as a working farm.

Ca. 1950 where the present resaurant entrance is.
